About the Event:
Step inside one of Dover’s most breathtaking hidden gems for an unforgettable summer evening in support of the CenDel Foundation. The annual Gourmet Dinner FUN’d Drawing and Reception returns on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6-9 p.m., inviting guests to enjoy an elegant cocktail reception in the stunning private garden of longtime hosts Joe and Tonda Parks. Fondly referred to as Shortwood Gardens, guests will enjoy a beautiful landscape, charming gazebo, inviting patios, and vibrant greenery. The venue offers a unique setting that continues to amaze guests year after year. The location of the event is 740 Bicentennial Blvd., Dover, DE 19904.
As CenDel’s largest fundraising event, the evening supports the Foundation’s mission to increase philanthropic giving and strengthen Central Delaware. Proceeds help fund grants to local nonprofits, provide scholarships, and sustain the CenDel Community Building in downtown Dover — a collaborative hub offering affordable space and resources to organizations serving our community. Since its founding, CenDel has helped distribute more than $3 million to support education, human services, and community development initiatives across the region.
Guests will enjoy cuisine from Bonz, cocktails, and the excitement of the signature raffle drawing. One lucky winner will receive a one-of-a-kind gourmet dining experience for eight, hosted by Joe and Tonda Parks. This exclusive experience includes a custom-designed menu, fine wines and liqueurs, private transportation to and from the event and an unforgettable evening of food, hospitality, and entertainment in the garden setting.
The Gourmet Dinner FUN’d Drawing and Reception has become one of the most anticipated events of the summer, bringing together community leaders, philanthropists, and supporters for an evening that celebrates generosity and impact. In 2025, the event welcomed more than 200 guests and raised over $60,000 to support CenDel’s work throughout Central Delaware.
