Art programs are encouraged to apply for funding through the Kent County Fund for the Arts (KCFA)! The grant cycle will award up to $20,000 in funding to eligible organizations, including those that promote art, art education and produce artistic events in Kent County.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must promote, educate or expand Art Awareness in Kent County.
- Must be a public institution or 501c3 organization with proper IRS documentation.
- Must be submitted on a 2026 KCFA application form, available HERE.
- Completed applications must be received or postmarked by April 2.
Grant notifications will be announced in the summer of 2026.

Last year’s grant recipients and their funded projects included:
- Delaware Shakespeare – To perform The Two Gentlemen of Verona in Kent County.
- Delaware Friends of Folk – To present a series of free acoustic music concerts inside the Old State House on The Green in Dover.
- Biggs Museum of American Art – To continue the Up for Adoption program, connecting students to the Biggs’ collection and sparking original student-created artwork.
- Delaware Choral Society – To present A Very Merry Holiday Celebration, showcasing seasonal music from diverse cultural backgrounds, accompanied by a string quartet.
- The Children’s Theatre – To perform a Broadway musical, with the first choice being Into the Woods, starring 50 young performers.
- Art Works for All – To continue theater arts-based education for transitional students.
- Forward Journey – To offer creative arts initiatives tailored for adults with disabilities.
- Inner City Cultural League – To provide instruction and performance opportunities through live and digital platforms.
- First State Ballet Theatre – To perform a mixed-repertoire program of classical and contemporary works on an outdoor stage at Loblolly Acres in Viola, DE.
- Delaware Symphony Orchestra – To present The Explorer Concert, a discovery program for elementary and middle school students in Kent County.
- Delaware Institute of Arts in Education – To offer an art school program for early childhood educators and their students.
- Opera Delaware – To perform the Get to Know Opera concert series at the Schwartz Center for the Arts.
- NeighborGood Partners – To create decorative crosswalks at Division and New Street, enhancing safety and community identity through public art.
